🚀 New Feature

Case Manager Evidence column: See the whole case at a glance

Collapsed, then expanded — completed evidence stays visible but recedes. Click +N to expand.

The evidence list on a case card no longer scrolls inside a fixed box. Select the item count to expand the case and see every piece of evidence, with completed items stamped and dimmed so outstanding work stands out. Tooltips on the expand control and Add Evidence explain what each does.

Search that suggests as you type

Search in the Case Manager and Evidence Manager now matches the values inside option-based fields, not just free text. Start typing and xBit offers matching values across every option field, with the matched characters highlighted. Keep typing to narrow the list, or name a field first — case status: pending — to search only that field. Select a suggestion to apply it as a filter without leaving the search box.

A case usually holds several pieces of evidence, so an evidence-status suggestion offers three forms: all, some, or none. Evidence Status: None "Pending" finds cases where nothing is still pending — a quick way to see which cases are clear of a status without opening any of them.

Database Upgrade

  • Upgraded the MySQL database engine to version 8.4 to improve performance, security, and long term platform support.

🐛 Bug Fixes

Improved Duplicate Field Name Validation

  • Enhanced Form Builder validation to prevent creating custom fields with names that already exist, even if the existing field is not currently added to the form.

Stats Explorer

  • Fixed an issue where the Case Status grouping in Stats Explorer did not correctly display evidence totals. Evidence counts are now accurately grouped by the status of their associated cases.

Prevent Disabling the Last Administrator

  • Added a safeguard that prevents the last active administrator account from being disabled, ensuring there is always at least one administrator with access to the system.

Evidence Manager

  • Improved the performance of the Evidence Manager when clearing filters, reducing the likelihood of timeouts and ensuring the application remains responsive during large evidence listings.

Evidence Status Improvements

  • The Evidence Status field now displays correctly as a column in Evidence Manager table views, filtering by status returns the right results, status values appear in global search, and the field renders as a dropdown as configured.

Case Status Editor Fix

  • Fixed an issue that prevented users from creating a new case status after opening an existing status for editing.

Improved Evidence Review Notifications

  • Adding a default reviewer no longer generates a review-request email for every existing evidence item. Previously, this could flood the email queue and delay other notifications. Explicit review requests and newly created evidence still send notifications as before.

User Field Display Improvement

  • Fixed an issue where user-type field filters displayed email addresses instead of users' display names. Filters now show names as expected.

Stats Explorer Label Formatting Fix

  • Fixed an issue where certain Expense Subtype labels containing storage unit abbreviations (such as GB and TB) were incorrectly reformatted in Stats Explorer. Labels are now displayed exactly as configured in List Manager. If you renamed options as a workaround, you can rename them back.

Table View Builder Fix

  • Fixed an issue that prevented new columns and fields from being added to Table View Builder layouts.

Triaged By Display Fix

  • Fixed an issue where the Triaged By field could be configured in the Evidence Manager Table View but was not displayed correctly.

🌈 UI Changes

  • Modified language for unassigned date tooltip in Evidence Manager.
