xBit deployment migrating to a new host

Please find below the high-level procedure for the xBit data migration to the new host.

Pre-Migration Activities

  1. Prepare the new host in accordance with the xBit system requirements.
  2. Install xBit on the new host using the xBit installer.
  3. Schedule a support call with the xBit team for migration assistance.

Migration Day activities

  1. Inform all users about the migration window and stop using xBit until the process is completed.
  2. Perform an on-demand backup using the xBit backup utility.
  3. Transfer the backup archive to the new host.
  4. Restore the xBit data on the new host.
  5. Update firewall rules, if applicable.
  6. Share the new xBit URL with relevant users.
  7. Decommission or stop the xBit instance on the previous host.
