🔍 Search improvements

You should see vast improvements in the speed for search.

📊 Device Stats

You should see improvement in speed of loading the device stats page.

🔀 Evidence Type Conversion

You now have the option to change the evidence type of a certain piece of evidence. You may have to do this if you made a mistake or have a placeholder evidence type for evidence types that haven’t been created yet.

To change the evidence type, click on the edit button on the evidence page. You can choose a new evidence type and then map out the existing evidence fields to those of the new type.

🛰️ Location Display

The location of evidence items is displayed in more places within xBit.

📈 Case Report

You are now able to embed PDF documents into pages as well as choose whether or not pages are printed when they have no data on them.

⛓️ Chain of Custody

Can now in put the exact time of chain of custody, rather than the current timestamp being used.

🤖 Forensic Software

The last 10 versions used will auto populate for you to enter.

🛠️ Form Builder

You can now set the USSS Stats Type and ICAC Stats Type that an evidence type categorizes under. This assists with USSS stats and ICAC stats for new evidence types.

Capacity & Capacity Unit Migration

♦️ New System Groups

By default, every user is included in the ‘Everyone’ group and new cases give ‘Everyone’ group access to the case. This, of course, can be changed to specific users.

📧 SMTP Relay Server Support

Relay servers are now supported when setting up SMTP. A username and password is not required in this case.

⏰ Timeout

A fifteen minute timer is now set in xBit which ends the session when no actions are taken during that timeframe. Taking an action, such as clicking or typing, will reset the timer. The timeout length can be edited on the settings page.
