New Feature: Change a field to any Field Type
Users are now able to change any field to any field type.
PLEASE NOTE: This functionality is recommended for fields that are newly created, have very little data or you are certain you want to change a field and remove any associated data.
Previously, users were limited to the type of fields they could change to those that were compatible.
Some examples include:
- Short Text to Long Text
- Single Choice to Dropdown
- Barcode to Short Text
These compatible examples are where the data obviously map well. For example, existing data for a Short Text field may have data that would not be easily converted to a Date and Time field.
Now, you can change any field to any field type
HOWEVER, not all conversions will preserve data. You will get a warning if you try to change a field between incompatible types.
Enter the confirmation message and click save to make your change.
